Well, more preciselly. Famele Japanese author after the sucess of UchiMusume be like ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
Just like how many author suddenly wanted to draw TS manga after Mashiro manga (Onimai) surfaced.
I also can clearly seen the spike of stories of similar breed come out of syosetsu. Which eventually got real publication.

And I haven't even count non-drama focus stories, not to mention I haven't even count korean made one too.
Talking about authors and their target audience. I think we are currently on a great shift. The shift that started around 2019-2020. I don't know about the west, but in the east. There's a clear shift towards female audience more and more since 5 years ago.
Major platform like webnovel, webtoon, noveltoon and even wattpad clearly sideline male audience by default (when you don't go set preference). From how i see, currently only legacy media and their legacy platform still holding on.
While Anime still mostly cater to male audience, i think this is going to change too. After all, this side has track record of following literature's trend. Though it would take longer to materialize.
