So i just read newest chapter of silent witch. The chapter started with a tea party with our protagonist and her friends and one other girls. This other girl just kept being pricky about tea party etiquette. While she may have good intention, her choice of words is not nice. And her way of speaking too.
Now our friends bring up expensive tea for our protagonist to enjoy. But once again... you can see it below.
This scene bring us to her past. Because of her upbringing as upstart noble, she doesn't really have any friends of the same age. And whenever she brought girls to her house it always ended just making her more isolated. This result come from the fact that everytime she invited people, she just yap yap yap yap and yap about what she's bringing to the party. Making it sounds like she was just simply bragging.
Even though what she wanted is just to provide the best goods her wealthy father can find. She just wanted to make her friends happy.
And what all this have anything to do with the title of the post. That is "Retrospective"?.
Well, i used to have friends who act just like her in grade school. Bragging about this and that, exaggerate about this and that, and sometimes just straight up lied to us (other kids). That attitude really annoyed me to no end. And I'm sure the other felt the same.
That's why, even though borrowing toys from each other in the group is normal. We barely borrow any from him, or letting him borrow ours. We didn't exclude him from our group or anything. But whenever he talked, we simply don't heed his words.
Now that i just read this chapter and decades has passed. I started to wonder.
Wait? all this time. Is he just being awkward?
Like, the truth he wanted to lend his toys and get to borrow something in return. Be he simply can't articulate his wish or he overthink and doesn't want to sounds demanding or something. Which ended up making him simply brag so other kids would want to borrow from him.
Man, if this is true. Now I kinda feel bad for him.
I probably should ask just in case if we ever meet again somewhere.
